Distances and times are typical, not guaranteed — Bangkok traffic in particular has its own ideas. Your operator will set the pickup time to suit.
The most common Thailand request. Around 30 km on the expressway into the hotel districts, Siam, Sathorn and the riverside — the driver takes the tollway, not the surface roads.
The airport is at the far north of the island; the beaches are 35–45 km south. A booked car means no bargaining at the arrivals kerb and no shared minivan that leaves when it's full.
Around 150 km down Motorway 7 to Pattaya, Jomtien and Na Jomtien. Direct from Suvarnabhumi on arrival or from your Bangkok hotel — either way it beats the bus terminal.
Around 200 km south along the Gulf to Hua Hin, Cha-am and Pranburi. A private car door-to-door is faster than the train and far more comfortable than the minivan.
Around 30 km to the Ao Nang beachfront, Nopparat Thara and the longtail piers for Railay. Flights into Krabi land at all hours; the driver is there regardless.
Short in distance — barely 5 km — but a private car straight to the hotel matters after a long connection through Bangkok. Onward transfers to Chiang Rai, Pai and Doi Inthanon can be added.
